NEW ARTICLE ON
NICK KUSHNER & The NACHTKABARETT
A new article has recently been
published on both my artworks and The NACHTKABARETT
by Synergry Magazine, an Australian based print
and web periodical which covers the occult, cinema
and dark culture. Speaking from a direct personal
perspective about an article written about myself,
I can say that the publication did an extremely
thorough and thoughtful writeup which I am both
equally grateful and proud of. Check the article

Nick Kushner is a remarkable
and controversial artist who explores the
darker side of the human psyche with a solid
grasp of esoteric and occult themes. It
is interesting that his childhood background
was in “eastern orthodoxy” as
his work tends to reflect a ritual even
liturgical sense and is saturated with esoteric
themes, while certainly from a more heterodox
perspective....

3 NEW PHOTOSETS
Candid shots of the infamous Skull
& Bones secret society "tomb" at Yale
University; a block-long abandoned (and apparently
soon to be demolished) Masonic Temple on Wilshire
Blvd in Los Angeles, meticulously documented with
each minute symbol & decor photographed; and
coincidingly a year to the day after first beginning
my set of late 70's punk rock photographs with Nancy
Spungen's grave, the set is complete with Joey Ramone's
grave photographed in July 2007.

The Pope entering Pandæmonium
under the aegis of the Whore of Babylon with canvas
pealing back to reveal a glimpse of the Beatific
Vision of Hell. One of my most involved and symbolism
referential artworks to date with nearly every element,
title included, having intentional, multifaceted
and deeper intricacies (from The Renaissance to
Present). The Pope died April 2 2005, with photos
of his corpse and funeral procession surfacing on
nationwide front pages two days later on my girlfriend's
birthday. To this day I futilely hold that it was
my grand birthday gift to her.

ROSE; BLOOD "WATERCOLOR".
NEW LARGE SCALE PIECE
Blood "watercolor" rose;
the first of many forays of experimental furtherance
of the medium. Unlike my previous uses of blood
in my artworks, the petals are not made up of a
single pencil stroke or background shade, created
entirely in blood and treated in the same manner
as watercolor paint.

NEW WORKS FROM 2006
Presently 5 new large scaled works completed
in 2006. Many new additions will come in near future including
a multimedia presentation of all of my works up to current,
many more sketches and early versions of pieces to be included
and all of my works, between now and the next several weeks,
are being reshot with my new digital camera for purposes of
more accurate to life images for online gallery and also for
print worhty reproductions that will be available very shortly.

Taken in
August 2006 on an unexpected sojourn to the Philadelphia area.
Photos of Nancy Spungen's grave in King David Cemetery which
will be coinciding with two-part series of drawings to be unveiled
in late 2006. Though I have no immediate Jewish heritage, and
though my last is a common Jewish name, there were however four
Kushner graves within the very same row as Nancy. The plastic
flowers and speared Piglet were already present before I had
arrived. Visiting Nancy was something I had long wanted to do
and fateful in the sense that I was helping my brother's love
life by driving him to upper Philadelphia, which happened to
be not four miles away from her. Ominous also the fact of visiting
her grave can be visibly apparent when my portrayal of her is
seen.

After over 13 months of personal, creative
and conceptual evolution marks the unveiling of "L'Age Noir,"
my most involved work to date, in all aspects. A
portrait of My Love as the Black Death. The Birth of the Syphilitic
Venus heralding the Death of Europe. Drawn entirely in drawing
pencil and measuring approximately 3 feet in width by 2 feet in
height. The red is painted with blood, being a mixture between
my own and the menstrual blood of my fiancee for symbolic of the
concept as well as an added magickal quality not necessarily visible,
reflecting the underlying occult themes....

5:1 2006 : CORAL
CASTLE, NEW PHOTOS
Anyone
who knows anything about my work knows I'm first and foremost
one who works in fine art, but photography (or more so photographing)
is something important to me, particularly in documenting interesting
or esoteric locations that are stimulating to me. Purposely making
my photography a sort of "diary" or artist's scrapbook
rather than intentionally delving into the photographic arts.
 Just
added are 61 new photos of a mystical place recently visited on
a road trip to Florida.
A
mystical monument which one man built for his lost love almost
seventy years ago, spurned by his "Sweet Sixteen" leaving
him the day before their wedding. The feat is one which can scarcely
be replicated today with modern day machinery and was created
solely by a 5 foot, 100 pound Latvian immigrant named Ed Leedskalnin
using only rudimentary hand tools. Created entirely of coral quarried
underneath the Florida soil, Ed claimed to know the secrets of
how the Pyramids were built which has resulted in Coral Castle
being compared to anomalies such as the Giza Pyramids as well
as Stonehenge. Ed built his monument over the course of 28 years
working in solitude with many believing he knew possessed the
ability to manipulate gravity. What is seen is a mystical lifelong
creation inspired by a romantic tragedy.

APRIL 2006: Though updates have
been sparse since launching it's been due to being in the creative
state as I've been in one of the greatest creative fervors of
my life since late 2005. Over the course of the next month I plan
to add many early sketches of my works, short expositional essays
& details on many including a bio with personal recommendations
artistic & literary recommendations
and info for those who have asked about myself.
As
soon as possible I hope to make prints available for sale for
all who have been requesting. Thanks everyone for visiting and

Saints, otherwise known as the "Bone Church" Ossuary,
in Sedlec - Kutna Hora added to PHOTOGRAPHS
from my recent trip to Eastern Europe, including many photos of
the exterior of the Chapel & grounds which have rarely if
ever before found their way onto the internet.
