Planetary collision conceptualized and executed throughout the time period of my highest astronomical (not astrological) fascination of supernovae, extrasolar planets and the abyssmal lonliness & desolation of outermost space. When certain phenomena are not visible to be documented by science it is the duty of art to portray them.

'Collision of the Planets'. Water color, circa 1920, Case 355. Taken from the book 'Artistry Of The Mentally Ill', originally published 1922. A collection of psychiatric thereaputive artworks by patients of the Heidelberg Psychiatric Clinic in Germany.

"[sic] Explanation about end of world. On 3d April 2053 in consequence of collision of the ice comet with comet Bila main comet in indescribable distance on western horizon, sun, moon, stars darken : drop vertically into endless night."
